GERRY is a graduate of Carleton University, in Ottawa, where he obtained a B.A. in History and Law in 1980. He subsequently graduated from the University of Ottawa Law School in 1984 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1986.

Over the past 25 years, Gerry’s practice has focused on personal injury, accident benefits, property/casualty, coverage and regulatory disputes in the insurance area. He has experience at all levels of court in Ontario and also at the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) with respect to accident benefits matters and other arbitral tribunals as well with respect to inter-company disputes.

Gerry is also a trained mediator and arbitrator. He obtained his mediator training from C.D.R. Associates in Boulder, Colorado (the originator of modern day mediation training in North America). He obtained his arbitrator training from the Arbitration & Mediation Institute of Ontario. Gerry is a member of the Advocates Society and Canadian Defence Lawyers. He is also a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association.

Gerry is originally from the Maritimes but grew up in Ottawa before moving to Toronto to practice law. With his wife Pat and their two sons, he now lives in Oakville. He spends his leisure time enjoying his son’s many sporting activities, skiing, golfing and travelling. He is also an avid reader of murder/mystery novels of all types.
