JONATHAN completed his pre-law studies in political science at the University of Western Ontario and York University. He was named to Dean's List at York University (1989 and 1990), while working towards his Master’s Degree in International Relations. Jonathan attended Law school at Queens University, graduating in 1993. During his studies there, he was awarded the David Sabbath Prize. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1995.
Jonathan has practiced insurance defence litigation for his entire career. He has over a decade of experience in the defence of personal injury cases, accident benefits matters, bad faith claims and related coverage issues, in both court and tribunal settings. He is experienced in private arbitration of priority disputes. Jonathan also has a growing practice in property loss litigation (and is highly knowledgeable about residential construction).
Jonathan has significant trial and arbitration experience and has practiced litigation at all levels of court. He does appellate work before the Director’s Delegate, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Jonathan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association.
Jonathan, his wife Ann and his two children, live in Whitby. He has been active in various community and political activities. Jonathan is an avid snow boarder and hockey player, and also enjoys wakeboarding, golf and home renovation.
