The Firm » Our History
Lee Samis, together with other partners formed their first law firm in 1987. Previously each had been partners at the Toronto law firm of Lee, Fireman, Regan carrying on a defence insurance practice in the area of personal injury litigation, insurance contract disputes, and other related insurance matters.
This practice format changed when Lee Samis and his colleagues formed the new firm in 1987, and has now further evolved. On September 1, 2002, nine lawyers, primarily from the predecessor firm, formed Samis & Company, Barristers & Solicitors.
Our new firm includes partners from the predecessor firm. We have attracted new talent from the partnership ranks of our competitors. Our clients have continued to support us in the new format and our objective is to continue to provide the quality services to the property and casualty insurance community that they have come to expect from our team.
Samis & Company's client base is varied and includes dozens of property and casualty insurers. We are core legal services providers to a number of the major insurers in Canada. Our clients require and recognize our quality of service.
