Stephen’s practice focuses on insurance litigation with a particular emphasis on accident benefits, bodily injury claims and subrogation matters.
Stephen graduated from the University of Toronto with a honours bachelor of science degree in psychology. He later obtained a law degree from the University of Victoria and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Before and during law school, he spent time working for large insurers in automobile accident and bodily injury adjusting roles. Stephen articled at a plaintiff personal injury firm in North York before joining Samis and Company.
Stephen has volunteered with organizations such as Pro Bono Students of Canada, the Victoria Restorative Justice Society, the University of Victoria’s Legal Information Clinic and the Admissions Committee of UVic’s Faculty of Law. He co-authored an informational pamphlet distributed in the Victoria area that was designed to inform people of their rights and obligations regarding demand letters. During his last year of legal study, Stephen was the recipient of the Faculty of Law’s Roadhouse Award.
