Lisa is a Partner of Samis+Company. Lisa practices a variety of insurance-related litigation, including accident benefits, personal injury, premise liability and subrogation. She is thoroughly familiar with the management of insurance litigation matters, and has represented insurers and their insureds in arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and in court proceedings at the Superior Court, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Lisa has spoken at seminars for the legal community presented by the Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Canadian Bar Association, as well as at insurance industry events across Ontario. She also writes licensing examination study materials for the Law Society of Upper Canada. Lisa enjoys keeping clients up to date on the latest case law and legislative changes and helping clients to analyze these changes and make practical adjustments to claims-handling protocols.
Prior to attending law school, Lisa worked for several years in the dental industry as a practice management consultant. She received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003. While in law school, Lisa received honorary recognition for her negotiation skills.
Lisa is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and serves on the Continuing Education Committee of Canadian Defence Lawyers. She is the past president of the Mature Students` Association at Osgoode Hall Law School.
